What happens when I use Archive with Completing a Release?

I am getting ready to Release my 1st package in JIRA, using the Fix Versions field.  I see an Action for "Archive"... what does Archive do to the issues assigned to this released version?

Hello,

Nothing will happen to the issues.

Archived means to  hide an old version from the Change Log reports, and in the Jira User Interface.

You can find more info here:

Alexey, Thank you for the information and link.  If I understand the answer correctly when we Archive the Issues related to the Release, these Issues will no longer be visible on the Issue Navigator (JIRA User Interface).  The only location I would be able to see these Released/Archived issues is via the Release view. Correct?

No, the issues will be still visible in the Issue Navigator. Hide in Jira UI has relation only to versions. For example, you will not be able to choose an archived version  in the Fix version field.

Issues are not affected.
