What is the Recommended way for Upgrade Jira Software 7.2.6 to 8.18.1

I am Planning My Jira Instance From 7.2.6 to 8.18.1 , I need Compete documented Recommendations and Challenges Which I have to Lookup, Is It Possible to upgrade directly to 7.2.6 to 8.18.1.

It is the major Upgradation. 

1. Need to check version compatibility and plug-in availability.

2. Need to take back for 7.2.6 including data, logos, plugins, Db config folders.

3. Download the 8.18.1 version

4. Start the installation while doing you should select upgradation for an existing.

5. Provide the Correct Path of existing version installation directory and Home Directory.

6. Start the installation.

7.  It will Take the back-up

     It will un-install the older version 7.2.6

     it will install the new version 8.18.1 

     it will launch the Jira for new version 

8. Need to check Weather all projects and other information Upgraded successfully or not
