What is the "ICON URL" used for in statuses?

Hi,

when creating a status in the "Issues" section of the administration, one of the things that Jira asks is the "Icon Url".

When I display the "Select image" dialogue, I see this: https://ibb.co/Lp5fDjc

Where are these Icon URLs shown?

(Jira Cloud).

Hi @Kamil Beer, I don't think it's been used anymore. For example, I recall they used to be the icons on the workflow designer and dashboard gadgets. At the Atlassian public issue tracker, I found a request to remove the option, but it has already been closed as a "Won't fix" resolution.
