When i click mark as done for epic in epic panel nothing happens.

Hi,

Recently the Mark as Done function for epics in the epic panel has stopped working. When i click on Mark as Done. It brings up the prompt "The epic XYZ Epic will be marked as Done. It will no longer be displayed in the Epics panel of the Backlog, but can be viewed in the Epic Report." When i click confirm nothing is happening. I used this function a few weeks ago and it was working fine.

How can i fix this?

Thanks for any help you can provide.

Additional issue im noticing, I don't appear to be able to add/remove tickets to sprints in a jira board or in the backlog view. I'm only able to update the sprint value if i go into the ticket and edit the sprint field directly.

Just wanted to close this out. Turns out its a firewall issue on our network side. Thanks for trying to assist everyone!

@David Loya ,

I come across similar issue few times. This is due to a property setup in the workflow being used by Epic.

In my case, I had jira.issue.editable property set to 'false' for one of the statuses (Done) in  the EPIC Workflow. This means that when the Epic is in 'Done' status, the epic can't be edited.

You can check the exact status of the Epic. Then open the workflow in edit mode and click on the respective status and choose 'Properties' option.

If jira.issue.editable property is set, remove it and publish the workflow.

Alternatively, you can change the Epic status which doesn't have jira.issue.editable property set, and then mark as done on the board.

Hi Veera. Thanks for replying.

So i verified that the workflow does not have the jira.issue.editable property set at all for my epic on any of the statuses. There are no properties set for any of them.

Even when I have my epic status set to open or in progress and attempt to Mark as Done it is not closing the epic out in the epic panel in the backlog.

@David Loya

It could be a different issue. Please submit a ticket in our Support portal with example Epic and the board in which you are trying to mark it as done so that one of our Support Engineers can check and get back to you.

Hello @David Loya

We have looked into the issue and are not capable of reproducing it. I would recommend you to open a support ticket and have one of the Atlassian support engineers look through the issue with you: https://support.atlassian.com/jira-software-cloud/
