When will SQL Server 2016 or SQL Server 2017 be supported?

Is there an ETA when later version of SQL Server (2016, 2017) be supported with JIRA?

I've used SQL Server 2016 for all JIRA instance versions 7.* and had no issues. The only hold up for me was the ODBC configuration changed during versions.

Officially supported in version 7.9.

What about Confluence, is there a minimum version and is  SQL Server 2016 compatible?
