White Epic Color

Joseph October 9, 2022

Is there a way to have either no color for the epics or a white color?  Also is there a way to default a color for the entire project?

Hello @Joseph

As @Bhanu advised, there isn't a built-in way to set a default color for new Epics, but you could add an automation rule that sets all new Epics to a particular color.

Google 'jira automation epic color' for an explanation of that method, or just read this thread.

Great catch @David Bakkers

I think that is the best solution for now until Atlassian releases the default colors feature based off of a project.

Hi Joseph,

Here's the link to a solution proposed by an Atlassian Team member to change the color - https://community.atlassian.com/t5/Jira-questions/How-to-change-Epic-label-color/qaq-p/1504806

By default, Jira does not offer a way to select a default color for epics based on a project. It will be a Nice to have feature if they add it.
