Why 2 different fields setting

Paulo.Cerqueira January 31, 2024

HI Team,

I hope someone can help me here with this simple question.

I work with 2 projects in Jira which basically uses the same fields.

Field 1 has a different setting from Field 2 (image below). Although these fields were set up using Aa text . They are behaving differently.

* With field 1 I can search, organize by alphabetical order, extract in a report, etc.

* With Field 2 I cannot do any of that and I cannot understand why.

THE QUESTION IS;

How can I set up field 2 as field 1,

or

where is Field 1 hidden in the field's list - if I can find it, I could add it to the second project.

FIELD 1

Hello @Paulo.Cerqueira

  • With field 1 I can search, organize by alphabetical order, extract in a report, etc.
  • With Field 2 I cannot do any of that and I cannot understand why.

What happens when you try to "search, organize by alphabetical order, extract in a report, etc." for Field 2?

Tell us about the specific actions you are taking, what you expect the results to be, and what the actual results are.

Show us the actual results/data so we can see how that compares to your expectations.

Hi Trudy,

Thanks for your swift reply and sorry for my late response. :-)

I understood now the differences between them;

Field 1;  Was created in a team project which gives the creator this flexibility to order the data in alphabetic order for example.

Field 2; Was create globally which gives the creator another type of flexibility which goes beyond the scope of this question.

For the moment I'm satisfied with this understanding and I got what I wanted.

Thanks Again.
