Why I'm gettin' a gadget error?

Nicolás Joel Giacconi Fernández December 10, 2018

Good morning,

We have configured a full-shared panel on our Cloud JIRA. This panel has 3 gadgets, one is a basic list of issues (with a filter A as a issues provider), and the two others, are a Pie Chart gadget (with the same filter A as a issues provider). Is really strange because the issues list is working OK, but the other two gadgets are gettin' errors. In Spanish, they return "Se produjo un error al generar la respuesta." (in English "An error occurred while generating the response."). We checked the permissions and everything is OK, and if we change the filter with another one (like a project) the gadgets works OK. but not with this one. Whats is happening? Anyone else is gettin' these kind of errors?

@Nicolás Joel Giacconi Fernández,

This can be due to the permission of Filter, make sure the filter used in gadget is shared with you (or group in which you belong). For that you may need to check whether the filter is shown in your filters list or not, basically, person who created filter must share it with other otherwise gadget will break and will show similar message. However, this is the usual case I've observed and there can be any other reason of such error, but first you must check permission on filters used in the gadgets.

Thanks.

Good morning @Aakash T and thanks for your answer. The permissions of the filter are OK. As I said in the original message, we have 3 gadgets, all 3 with the same filter. The gadget that is a typical list of issues, is working OK, but the other 2 gadgets (the chart gadgets) are returning that error. What could it be?

@Nicolás Joel Giacconi FernándezOhh! Sorry I missed that part, in that case you can do one thing, just edit and save the filter as well as gadget again and check. If the issue is still there it must be due to the data returned by the filter and needs to reported to Atlassian.

@Aakash T done it...but still gettin' the error. How can report this issue to Atlassian?

Aakash T December 10, 2018

You can report it at following link,

https://ecosystem.atlassian.net/servicedesk/customer/portals

Make sure that you're using JIRA's gadget and not third party add-on gadget, otherwise you should report to respective add-on's support portal.
