User Name does not list when a search using first char of First and Last name in Assignee field. It was working fine earlier. Still, It is working fine for "Watchers" field.
If the search works fine on the Watchers field, then this sounds like a permissions issue. The user you are trying to set as the Assignee may not have the proper permission to be an "Assignable User" in the project configuration.
If you are a project administrator, you should be able to see how the "Assignable User" permission is granted by going to the project's permission configuration. Permissions can be granted based:
Individual users
Groups
Project roles
Anyone – to allow anonymous access
Issue roles, such as Reporter, Project Lead, and Current Assignee
A user picker custom field
A group picker custom field – this can either be an actual group picker custom field, or a select list whose values are group names
If the "Assignable User" permission is granted to a project role and you are a project administrator, you can add yourself to the necessary project role. If any of these other options are granting the "Assignable User" permission and you are a global Jira admin, you can:
Change the permission scheme to include one of the options above that allows the criteria to pass for your account.
If permissions are granted based on user groups, you can add yourself to that group.
If you are not a global Jira admin, you'll need to reach out to your site's administrator for further assistance to get you what you need.
