Why am i not able to search number type custom field for two dimensional filter gadget?

I'm trying to populate a table with account name (Drop down) & number of employee (Number Field) however, number of employees is not available in the search list.

Is there a restriction on number type fields?

The two dimensional filter gadget can only work with fields that have a know set of possible values.  You can put anything in a number field, so the gadget can't work with it.

There are a couple, but I can't recommend using them as they do not scale well in my experience - any medium or larger Jira (20k issues) runs into performance issues with them.
