Why are all my Child Issues automatically "Done"

Hi. Created a new Project and fiddled with the board columns as I only needed one for what I was doing. This left the Done column.

Even though I added back another "In Progress" column, where I create all my new issues,  every time I create a new Epic it is created as Done. Tasks are fine, but every SubTask I create under a Task is also automatically Done.

Easy to fix by just clicking on the status, but how can I stop this by default?

Thanks!

Hi @gmcewen ,

Welcome to the community.

Few things to check here, under board configuration go to the columns setting and make sure that the New issues are placed in the first status of the first column they match, If your “Done” column is the only one mapped to a status used by Epics or Sub-tasks, they will appear as Done.

For the Epic. and Sub-task, please check for the respective workflow for the  “Create” transition" those are going to todo or in progress status.

Best Regards,

Bibek

Thank you! I found the workflow there and it was set to set status to Done on create.  All fixed :)
