Why are the epic names not shown anymore in the backlogs?

Why are the epic names not shown anymore in the backlogs?

Since today all epic names are gone in our project backlogs. Only the summaries are shown - even in the tickets.

Is this a bug?

Hi, Could you please share a screenshot? Just make sure what's going on and you don't turn off the epic panel

Hi @Petra Meier-Liepe and welcome to the community,

You mean the field has disappeared from the Epic issue types? If yes, then perhaps someone has removed it from the view screen. Add it back again.

Go to project > project settings
Issues > Screens
Find the screens for the epic > expand them
Click on the screen which corresponds to View Screen
Search the field from the bottom search field and add it

Cross check that this action resolved your problem. If not, report back.

I absolutely agree that it doens't make any sense to show the epic summary in the backlog. There is not enough space and it makes the board look confusing. Can't we change it back so that the Epic name is shown?

Ah! You were talking about this. A screenshot would be great to understand your problem better :)

It seems that you have found the solution but I don't think that you can bring them back. One of the reasons for removing them was that both Epic Name and Summary were confusing to many people.

It's no longer clear, one just see words, when you open the backlog and see the sprint with the tickets.

So you see the beginning of the summary, and then it's cut off...

And also the overview of the epics is not short and clear anymore...
