I have just created a new project, defined my epics and created stories.
I detailed the stories start' and due dates, but when I go to roadmaps, that doesn't show in the graphic. (I'm trying this on a free plan, but I have other projects in here that shows the dates in the graphic).
I have checked on settings, and I don't find somewhere else where I could set something else.
Thank you so much for your help.
Is this for a Team Managed project or a Company Managed project?
Is this a Software project?
Is it a Scrum board or a Kanban board?
For a Scrum board, per the documentation
https://support.atlassian.com/jira-software-cloud/docs/what-is-the-roadmap/
"Child issues in Scrum projects are scheduled using the dates of the sprints to which they’re assigned"
Thank you for your answer and the documentation. I've checked it, added sprints, and still it doesn't show as it does in the epics.
It's a software project.
Scrum board.

Showing the time bars for child issues is a feature that needs to be turned on for the Roadmap for that board.
When viewing the board click the ... button in the upper right corner.
Select "Board Settings" if it is a board for a Company Managed project. If it is a board for a Team Managed project select Configure Board.
For a board for a Company Managed project the center pane will show a list of areas of the board you can configure. For a Team Managed project the information is displayed in the left side navigation pane.
Select Roadmap.
You should then get a screen that shows a toggle option labeled "Child level issue scheduling". Make sure that is on.

Thank you, Truddy.
I have checked it and it's already on.
I started a new sprint and I can see time bars for child issues only for the sprint that's on. I'll keep searching on what I can do with the next child issues.

Timeline bars will show only for issues that are in a sprint, and will match the start and end dates of the sprint. They will show only for active and planned sprints that have dates; not for sprints that have no dates or were already completed.
You will not see time bars that match the start and due date of the issues themselves.

@Trudy Claspill I've got the exact same problem as Daniela. Have a company managed scrum software project and cannot see stories, tasks and start and due dates in the roadmap.
The child level issue scheduling is turned on for roadmaps, we have sprints, but when I add a start and due date for a issue in the sprint it doesn't show on the timeline?
Advanced Roadmaps is out of the question with the cost doubling per user so I need a solution given all of the articles I've read state that I should be able to see Epic, Story, Task level in the roadmap timeline?
Thanks

Hello @Adam Hallyburton
Welcome to the Atlassian community!
You don't need Advanced Roadmaps. Please review my last reply.
If you are using a Scrum board, time bars for Stories and Tasks will be shown only for issues assigned to Active Sprints, and the time bars will match the start and end date of the sprint, not the Start and End Dates you set for the individual issues. This is documented in the Roadmap documentation here:
https://support.atlassian.com/jira-software-cloud/docs/what-is-the-roadmap/
Child issues in Scrum projects are scheduled using the dates of the sprints to which they’re assigned. Learn more about scheduling child issues for Scrum teams. Kanban teams can’t yet schedule child issues on the timeline, though this feature is coming soon.
