Agile boards are part of "Jira software" and not "Jira core" thus you would need "jira software" to have boards.

Oh, we already have that. But our marketing and non technical teams find JIRA Software a little bit too much for basic task management, and I was hoping JIRA core might be a little easier for them to handle. Thanks.
