Why i'm not able to see the active users in project board

Vinay Sheel September 24, 2021

I've invited the users to my Jira project board and they've activated their account by logging in and they're seeing the board that I've created. However, as an admin. I'm not seeing the active users in the project board nor am able to assign the users to an issue. Can someone help me with how to fix this, please?

Hi Vinay, welcome to the community. Can you share a screenshot of what you are looking at? Keep in mind that if you are referring to the avatars that appear at the top of a board, you will only see those for users that have assigned issues that are on the board at that time.

Thanks much for your reply, Jack. Here are the screenshots, Hope this helps u.

1. SS_1 is the screenshot where I'm not seeing the avatars of active users on the project board.

2. SS_2 I'm neither seeing them in the list when I try to assign them to an issue.

3. SS_3 is the list of active users.

To reiterate, though I have users logged in and activated (upon my invitation) I'm not seeing them on the project board to assign to issues/tasks.

Can you please help us here? Would be happy to answer in case if you have any further questions,

Thank You!

hi Vinay,

a bit on your screenshots...

  • ss1 is of your backlog. in this view you will see use your avatars yes they are assigned issues that appear in your backlog. The same applies if you happen to look at the active Sprint or kanban board.
  • ss2 the fact that you are not seeing any other users tells me that they have not been added to the specific project. If this is a CMP project you need to make sure that the users or in a group or role and that that group or role has the necessary permissions such as browse, assign issues, create issues etc. Go to project settings > permissions
  • ss3 this screen shows me that you have for Active users. Once they are added to the project with the necessary permissions then they should show up in your assignee list and their avatar will appear on the appropriate board if they are assigned an issue.
