Trying to create a JIRA issue and am unable to due to an issue with the “components” field, which defaults to “none” and doesn’t allow for any changes to be made (no drop-down, etc.)
Hi @luke.mountz and welcome!
Care to share a screenshot of your results?
It seems that the component might be a required field, but they didn't create any? Can you check on your project to see if there are any components created?

@Alex Koxaras -Relational- I accidentally "accepted" your first response as the answer, but have since unaccepted it. Just wanted to make sure you still receive notifications from this post after that option has been selected/deselected. Sorry for the confusion.

So it's what I suspected. The component field is required and there is no component created.

Hi Luke,
It looks like the Field Configuration scheme attached to this project and issue type makes the the Component field mandatory/required. You will need to change the Field Configuration to not have the Component field mandatory or you will need to add some component values to your project and populate the field on create.

Thanks, John! I have looped in our IT head to make these changes.
