Hi Team,

We would like to know, what will happen if we cannot migrate to cloud version and given that we cannot renew the existing license. Will Jira continue work after the 14th Jan, as the current license expires on Jan-13th,2023

  • SEN-20623232 - Jira Software (Server) 10 Users License - Jan 13, 2024

Please let us know, how would be the behavior after License-Expiration for Jira ? and the best way how to proceed on this JIRA set up going further after Jan-13th, 2024.

Please reply back as soon as possible.

Thank you,

Dev G

Hi @Devendar Gangapuram

Jira server licenses are perpetual. That means you can keep using Jira when the license expires. When a Jira server license is renewed you pay for support and upgrades. The initial purchase of Jira contains the purchase of the tool.

So yes, you can keep using Jira. But it is not recommended to keep using it as soon as vulnerabilities are published for your version of Jira. You will get no updates to fix any security (or other) issues.

As an alternative you can move to Jira Cloud or purchase a Jira Data Center license. But DC will be quite expensive for 10 users.

Hope this helps!
