Will Jira upgrade change integration APIs

Hi All,

Please advise as we are planning to upgrade we have the below question from customer

Do we know if this version upgrade will change integration APIs?

we have jira 8.2.2. with starter license.

Any upgrade might change APIs, but we can't be sure because you have only given us half the information - you need to compare the start version and the new one.  Best bet is to read the release notes for each version from the current one to the new one.

Note that APIs rarely change significantly while you're in the same major release.  Stuff written for 7.0 is mostly compatible all the way through to 7.13, it's only the move to 8 that breaks things.  The only time an API call might change in a minor release (like 8.2.0 to 8.2.1) would be as part of a fix for significant bug with the API.

version is 8.2.2 and we will upgrade to latest 8.5.0

8.x to 8.x should not be a problem.  Read the release notes to check if anything big has changed, the api changes will follow that.
