Will i be able to add a new Issue types in the existing workflow without impacting the existing tick

kaviroi August 7, 2018

Hey,

I have joined a project newly and i found they have not created the sub task filed in the workflow. i have created the workflow for Sub-task filed and trying to add it in the existing workflows. while am trying to publish it am getting the following message. Since we are in the mid of the projects we have already closed around 1000 tickets. If i do this workflow changes all the 1000 stories will be changed as Open . Is there a way can i do without impacting the existing 1000 Tickets

Hi @kaviroi,

the only thing, your screenshot says is, that there are no subtasks in your project (the number right beneath "Sub-task") which will be changed.

If you have assigned your new workflow only to the sub-task issuetype and changed nothing else, only the subtasks are touched by your changes.

Look at the number with the grey background. It tells you, how many issues will be changed by your new workflow-scheme.

Based on your screen shot the system shows 0 impacted issues - so yes you should be able to add it with no impact to the data in your existing issues.
