I have a structure that is shared with a large group of people and I want to have one of my quick filters (Group by Product) to be enabled by default when individuals first begin using the structure.
I don't want to put the filter (Group by Product) into the automation as it makes the filter less useful for some more advanced users, or less utilitarian for other purposes.
I think most users will want the filter (Group by Product) enabled though.
I'm pretty sure I can enable the filter (Group by Product) and then use the "Share" button and send out that view to a large group of people via email.
But . . . I want it such that if users are searching Structures, and they find this structure and open it, that when they first open it up that the one filter (Group by Product) is enabled.
I want them to be able to easily de-select (Group by Product), and this is why I don't want to put (Group by Product) into the automation.
Can I have a Quick Transformation "on by default" for a Structure?
Hi Michael,
For now, sharing the perspective of your structure is indeed the way to go.
We may be considering the possibility of customizing the way users see a particular structure when opening it, but we are yet to evaluate where this would fit into our roadmap.
I will make sure to post an update on your question if and when there's any progress.
Thank you for using Structure.

Hello Manali,
There are no specific plans at the moment. As it was mentioned above, the Perspective allows to do what was originally described in this post - you can share the structure in the same exact way as you see with other users including certain transformations being enabled. You can find out about the Perspective feature in our documentation here.
If this doesn't cover your requirements and you're looking to achieve something else, please feel free to reach out to us directly at support.almworks.com and we'll be glad to discuss the details of it with you.
Best regards,

Hi @Stepan Kholodov _ALM Works_ - Thanks for your response. Perspective is temporary workaround. I have seen that if I use a perspective link and then switch to another Structure that Structure will then remain in the perspective view rather than switching to that particular Structure's default view (set my admin) and this degrades the user experience.
Thanks

Thank you for sharing more details. Please clarify - do you mean the transformations from the used perspective appear in a different structure when you switch to it or the matter is related to the View(the combination of columns in the structure) - when you open a structure via a perspective and then switch to a different structure, you see the perspective view instead of seeing the default view?

Hi @Stepan Kholodov _ALM Works_
I have only tested for View (the combination of columns in the structure). When Iopen a structure via a perspective link and then switch to a different structure, I see the perspective view instead of seeing the default view.

Hello Manali,
Thank you for clarifying. It is possible that the configured default views are not public and can only be seen by certain users, but we would need to examine your configuration and setup in detail before we can recommend anything specific.
Please submit a support request at support.almworks.com so we could properly assist you with the Views issue there.
Best regards,
