Hi There
I configured workflow rules to block the transition from Status "Approval" to "To Do" when some custom fields are set to "Blank", yet when I approve an issue of the correct issue type that contains "Blank" in these fields, the transition proceeds with success.
It is the same for approving newly created issues and existing issues.
Am I doing something wrong?
Any assistance will be highly appreciated.
Regards
Marius
Hello @van den Bergh, Marius, Vodacom (External)
What are the field types for the fields that you are checking (i.e. the Product Owner field)?
Hi Trudy
They are all text dropdowns
You must be a registered user to add a comment. If you've already registered, sign in. Otherwise, register and sign in.
Is "Blank' literally one of the selectable options in those dropdowns? Or are you trying to block the transition if no selection has been made?

The objective was to ensure that those fields are not empty, but I could not find a way to test that (see screenshots attached), thus I inserted "Blank" as a dropdown option and made it the default.
It will be first prize if there is a way to test "empty" without having to this.
Either way, I still need the workflow rules to work for approval transitions.

To create a transition rule that blocks the transition if no value has been selected in a Dropdown field, simply leave the This value field blank and save the rule.
The field that you are checking has to actually be part of the issue types to which the workflow applies.
