Would like to create a Scrum Development project, choice only of Classic or Next-Gen

Leonie_Vortsman April 28, 2020

In the online documentation, I find the following instructions, but on my Jira software I only get the option of "Classic" or "Next-Gen"

  1. Choose Projects > Create project, and then select your project type. Typically, you would choose 'Scrum software development' for iteration planning, or 'Kanban software development' for constraint-based task management
For this tutorial, let's do Scrum since most software developers use scrum in agile projects.
  2. Choose Scrum software development > Next

Hi @Leonie_Vortsman

did you try and select one of the options? Because then a window will pop up presenting a selection of templates for each kind of project (Next-Gen and Classic). Scrum and Kanban templates are available for both kinds of projects.

Best, Max

No, I didn't.

But have now tried "Classic and then I was presented with the options.

Sorry I'm brand spanking new to "Jira", and on a tight deadline to learn it.

Thanks for your help, much appreciated.

Don't worry about that. You're welcome and as you're new to Jira and the community, simply keep asking questions and search for help in the existing ones! :) I'm sure you'll like it here.

Best, Max
