Did you mean:

at-mention alerts

Michael Brechbill July 7, 2025

I am not receiving at-mention alerts. A while back, I think I opted out/unsubscribed from Jira. How can I resubscribe?

I have verified that Personal Settings/Notifications for projects/work items are set for

  • Send me emails for work item activity as assignee and as reporter
  • Group notification emails together is every 3 minutes
  • Email format is set
  • Notifications for all work items is set to both In Product and Email
  • Notifications for relevant work items is set to both In Product and Email, for all items/sub-items

Hey @Michael Brechbill

Welcome to Atlassian Community!

The 'Manage Notifications' option from your screenshot actually takes you to the Personal settings where you can choose your notification preferences.

Have you already verified that the below option is checked under personal settings?

Also, if you notice this behaviour for a specific projects, it is likely that you have configured custom notifications for that project. Expand the project notifications on the same screen, and check if the mentioned notifications are set.

Thanks!

Thank you, Karen. Yes, I do have these set.

Do you have the project level permission to view the issue (work item) where you're mentioned?

If you don't have visibility over the work item, you'll not get notifications for that item.

Thanks!

Yes, these are set as same, with all items checked for both In Product and Email.

Hi @Michael Brechbill

welcome to the community and thank you for your question.

There is no way to opt out of @mentions as they are a core part of the Atlassian products.

Do you remember when these notifications stopped?
Is the problem reproducible? Is anyone else having this issue?

Michael Brechbill July 7, 2025

Thank you, Kai.

This began about 3 weeks ago. Others in my work group are receiving at-mention notifications, and I tried to mention myself in one of my projects.

I did modify my original post to include a screenshot of what I believe might have happened, but now 3 weeks out, I don't recall exactly what was done. Would the screenshot provide better information?

Thanks for the screenshot. If I got it right this is related to community posts but your original question was about Jira?

If you select the following option:

You should end up on the notifications config page. There is a line with @mentions :

Please check your settings there. Some of these might be unchecked.

Thanks, Kai.

I have verified that these settings are indeed checked.
