automatically transition status of subtasks on parent issue

I if change the status of my issue to completed what are the options and best way to automatcically transition all the sub task status to a certain status (in this case it would be from the dispatched status to the finished status)

Hi @Jon,

By default JIRA has no feature to change the transition when the parent issue is changed. But you can achieve this by plugins like JMWE. You can add the post functions as required with this plugin https://marketplace.atlassian.com/apps/292/jira-misc-workflow-extensions?hosting=cloud&tab=overview

what about script runner? could that do the same thing somehow?

Script runner can be used as well. You might required to write custom script.
