can we have 2 comment section in jira?

Hello Everyone,

Is it possible to have 2 different comment section in Activity, one for email comments and other for adding comments manually adding instead of both in same section. if not, any workaround you may think of?

Hi @Sal  you can add multi text custom field with name  "Comments".

True but it doesn’t behave like Comments. I would not call it Comments as it would be confusing.

Hello Jack and Vikrant,

I tried adding a custom field but its behavior is totally different from the original "Comments" field.

If you use Enterprise Mail Handler for Jira (JEMH) and fully use it for inbound and outbound mail handling, you can enable a feature called "Notification History" that will add a tab that can be used to track inbound and outbound mail activity.

Actually we are using our own developed Mail Handler which currently don't have this feature.
