cannot make a custom subtask i.e. bug-subtask behave the same way as "sub-task" to contribute to %

I created a subtask called "Bug-SubTask" so that i can capture insprint bugs and get them solved in the sprint also for quick creation of bugs in a sprint with traceability. However, i cant get this subtask to impact the % contribution to the story as it does affect the storys readiness and % complete of the story. My thought was by adding any type of subtask it would automatically contribute to the % completeness of the story.

A regular subtask in a JIRA story contributes to the % complete in a story. My bug subtask should impact the story likewise is my thought. I may later have to drive calculation off the story point also of the bug-subtask, but i'll figure that another day.

-- One observation is if my story had no subtasks and only (1) bug subtask it wont even show the bug-subtask part of percentage complete. However, If my bug subtask exists with other regular subtasks and /or other bug-subtasks, it DOES show the percentage complete. Ex: 3 task(done) 5 bug(TODO) subtask, it will show 37% complete.

2 bug-subtasks (2 TODO) 100% incomplete.

This narrows down that 1 subtask alone will not show the % completeness view.

Where/how are you doing the % complete calculation?

im not performing any of the calculations. looks like JIRA takes the number of subtasks you have and equally splits the % complete weight-age across the subtasks. So, my issue is really solved if i make sure i have more than 1 subtask associated to my story. The bug tho is that JIRA dosent recogonize the percentage complete for a single subtask as it either done or not done when you have only one subtask. So, my thought was only that even if one subtask is done it should say 100% complete.
