changing approvers from the issue page

ita300 September 3, 2018

Hi All,

once we create a change request internal we have to choose approves, after the issue created and it will reach approvers statues , we need that agents be able to change the approvers from the issue page.

can anyone suggest and help to reach this goal ?

HI @ita300

Welcome to the community!

You can add the workflow transition screen on the respective transition with the User Picker(Approver) field so while transiting an issue the screen will pop up with the user picker (Approver) field just you need to assign/changes the approvers.

Yhank you Dear Yogesh for anwering,

my goal is when we choose the approvers , and suddunlly one of approvers go out of office and we need to change the approvers we can change it easlly from issue page.

scenario : we create change request internally and we choose approves already , once issue reaches to approves statues we found one of approvers is out of office and issue will be stack and cant move to next statues until it get approve, so we need agents can change approvers easlly from the issue itself.

In this case, you should add one new transition from the status approves to approves (means incoming and outgoing is same) and add the user picker custom field to the screen and attach to this newly create transition.

Once done this if the approvers are out of office then change/assign the different approver using it.

thank again for your replay.

i didn't understand your instruction coz am new in jira  :)

if you can make it more simple and let me know how to do the above configuration step by step :)

but i guess solution is to make the fields ( approvers ) in the issue can be modified and and clickable to choose the new user. now everything is working fine only i need approves filed to be clickable and i can pick new approver.

Yes, the steps is as follows..

1. Create a new screen or use the existing screen.

2. Add the approver field to this screen.

3. Create/add the new transition from and to on the same status.(example : the status is Inprogress then you can add the new transition from Inprogress to Inprogress, means incoming and ougoing is same status)

4. Associate the screen to newly created transition.
