controling what status show up on the custom filter search page

I have several saved searched and two projects. when I try to filter by status on one of the searches I have to select from the full list of statuses that we have made. but when I search the other filter, only the statuses that are associated with the issue type are listed. how can get my other search to only show status that are associated with that project?

can you post your filters?

I think the search is reducing options to available values based on issues matching criteria
