Hi All,
Consider a scenario : We have a custom field/scheme/workflow which is used in some 10 different projects. As we know if we change any it would affect across all the projects.
What would be the better approach in handling situation as it should change only in current project and not all the projects it is associated.
Hi Suma - Welcome to the Atlassian Community!
I would copy the current one, modify has needed and then then attach the new one to the project that needs the change. You will need to do that with each Scheme as well.
Hi John,
As you mentioned we need to copy them to new project, what for the existing project which are using same screen/scheme across many projects, How we can accomplish the change not effecting other projects which refer to same workflow/screen/schemes.

1. Copy the Screen used by the exiting projects and give the new copy a different name.
2. Modify the new Screen
3. Copy the Screen Scheme used by the exiting projects and give the new copy a different name.
4. Modify the new Screen Scheme to use the new screen created in Step 1.
5. Copy the Issue Type Screen Scheme used by the existing projects.
6. Modify the new Issue Type Screen Scheme to use the new Screen Scheme created in Step 3.
7. Attach the new Issue Type Screen Scheme to the project that needs the new screen. Do not change any of the other existing projects.

4. Click on the Actions button in the top right and select Use a different scheme.
5. Search for and select your new Issue Type Screen Scheme.
6. Click Associate button.
You should be good at that point.
