epics and Issue links

Olafur Johannsson February 5, 2018

Is it possible to make a JQL query that has a column that displays what "is required by" that can be found under Issue links.

the thing is we have a project that has requirements from a customer.

One requirement can have one or more epics that can be found under "issue links" as requires.

So when I list up all issues "epics", can I then see a column that displays "is required by" ??

or do I need to create a field in the issuetype epic where I write down the name of the requirement so I can put that field as the column I need?

Hi,

please have a look at our add-ons Link Finder and Epic Finder, especially at examples of use here and here.

If you find them suitable but you need some other functions, please let us know, we can add them for you.

it is like this:

issue nr 1 = requirement issue

issue nr 2 = epic
issue nr 3 = user story / task

when doing a JQL I need the following columns.
requirement issue nr
epic link(s) that are connected to the requirement
User story name or link connected to the epic.

Hi,

As for today, we don't know if it is even possible in Jira to return query according to your needs. It seems that you would need dedicated solution like report or specialized add-on which presents data in the way you want.
