hi there
We are building workflows, i added the requirement that a description always needs to be filled in when you create an epic, so other people know what the epic is about.
But when I now want to add an epic in the roadmap it give an error, it does not open the screen relate to it.
I have the same setup for tasks and that works fine.
Dennis
Workflow so a screen must be shown when an epic is created.
What happens when i want to create a Epic.
Instead of making the Description field required from Workflow validator, make it Required from the Field Configuration Scheme as shown in below screenshot:
Once you make the Description Field Required from the Field Configuration for the issue type Epic, then Roadmap will Pop up the create screen for the Epic Creation when you hit the Enter key after entering the Epic Summary and won't allow to create the Epic until it has the Description filled.
Thank you,
Ashish
@Dennis Celen I would expect it to be the same for either a task or an epic. Can you confirm that they are both setup the same requiring description on create?
When you create an issue on the roadmap, in this case the epic, the roadmap is not populating the description and you are seeing the requirement error. You would just need to create the issues with this requirement through the create button at the top and it will not be an issue as you will meet the requirement that you have setup.

hi there
that's correct, but that is also why I setup a workflow that a screen needs to be shown when a new EPIC is made. then you can add the description. this workflow works for tasks & subtask but when I want to add an EPIC in when using the roadmap, the screen does not shows up...
