i have installed Release Board for Jira but how to link issues to it?

we have installed Release Board for Jira, as we are trying to manage releases, however i couldnt link issues to the release or even to make workflow on the release. 

i need to know if i can customize workflow and how to add issues to the release?

i have read them but still dont know how to link issues to the release, adding to that workflow i can configure, i cant make benefit of them. and make real change in workflow rather than released/unreleased

Could You please describe You cannot set 'fix version' or cannot see 'scrum board'?

now it is clear the part related to link issues to release, but what about changes in workflow by adding custom status

it is only drag and drop for release but the status is only released/unreleased
