Hello I m doing some test on my test environment.
I would like to create ticket via mail and I want the eml file like attachment in the Jira issue.
I found a solution in this way:
Set a third email test@outlook.it on this email I set this rule on outlook
for all message forward like attachments to this email:test1@outlook.it
Test@outlook.it is a user in my instance with all the permission to open a issue on my project
test1@outlook.it is a mail handler
Everything works correctly, issues are opened with the naming F: test email because F mean forward unfortunately the email it's empty no attachment is present in the issue even if I attach afile so no eml file is present in the issue and neither other attachments.
Maybe I should trust someithing to recevie attachments? or there is anything else?
I hope someone could help me
Hi
This is just a guess, as we haven’t tried this I know the anytime email handler in jira is limited to what it can do For example when we submit a ticket through email the summary of the ticket gets the subject of the email The body of the e-mail populated into the description of the ticket I have to test but I recall if you include an attachment in the email it may include the attachment if that field is available
Hope this helps

Hi Alan, without forwarding the email includes the attachments so not depend on this.
I mean if I send an email with attachments directly to mail handler the ticket are correctly open with all the attachments but this is not work if I use the forward

Interesting - I’ll do a test on my data center instance and see what I get.
