Hello @secutechconsultingservices

as Mohamed has told you,

Go to Jira Settings > Issues > Workflows and select the relevant workflow for your project. Click Edit on the workflow and choose the transition where you want the parent field to be required (such as the Create transition). Then, add a validator by selecting Add Validator and choose Field Required. Specify the parent field (like Epic Link for stories or Parent for sub-tasks) as the required field, and save the validator

Thank you Mohamed, yes the Parent field included on the Create Issue screen associated with the Task issue type?

and i'm sure I'm setting that in the Create transition, in the workflow that applies to the issue type (Task)?

in the related workflow, I'm clicking on the arrow Create> Validators> Add Validator> Parent Status Validator> Add> Status of Parent Issue (I'm not selecting any status)> Add.

However it does not work. I'm still able to create story issue type without filling out the "Parent" field
