permission by Component

Hi all,

Can I create user permission to view in the same project only the component they are assigned to?

• If we have a project X with 3 different components: A, B, and C
• 10 users and John is one of them

I want John to be able to see in project X only his component B and not the other two components A and C.

Not through the use of components. Are you familiar with issue security schemes?
You can use those to restrict this users visibility to only particular issues.

No I don't want restriction to particular issues as all the issues will be used in the different components but I want a restriction by component

I'm afraid there isn't a way to restrict based on components. You can restrict issues using security levels whicgh could be set based on a group picker field.
