Hi Team,
Does the tool JIRA provide any out of the box "Workflow Templates" for a normal IT project lifecycle ??
We are looking for a generic workflow (template) that fits all IT Projects.
We are looking for a workflow (template) which includes statuses as in discussion, requirement gathering, business analysis, pending clarification, on hold, ready for dev, impact analysis, design, dev, system test, UAT/BAT, Pre-prod, Prod.
Pls help
Thanks,
Adil
Hello @Adil Bulsara _ADIL_
When you create a new Company Managed project the project workflow will be based on the template you select for your project.
The project templates that are available depend on which Jira products you have installed:
- Jira Work Management
- Jira Software
- Jira Service Management
After selecting a Project Template category on the left, if there is more than one project template for that category then your options display on the right.
After selecting a specific project template from the right, the next page for some of the templates includes workflow information.
I don't believe there is any documentation that lists all the templates and their associated workflows. You may need to create several different types of projects and then view the workflows that were created for them.
I'm fairly certain there is not any project template that includes the workflow you outlined. If that is the specific workflow you want you will probably need to create your own custom workflow.
You could create an empty project and customize the workflow, custom fields, and screens as you prefer. If you want to use that same configuration for other projects you can specify that when you are creating the project by checking the Share Settings option. Note this is available only for Company Managed projects.
