I've been getting the
You must link this task to a project using Epic Link field.
error when creating sub-tasks in a project. I've checked screens, permissions, field configuration and more and still getting the error. What am I missing?
What Issue Type are you creating these Sub-tasks under?

Is this Work Management of Software? And is it Company-managed or Team-managed?

I would check Epic Link isn't a mandatory field during creation.
Usually this is via a Workflow Condition or Validator, on the create transition of the Workflow which your Sub-task uses.
If there is one, either remove it, or duplicate the Workflow and remove it from there, then assign the new Workflow to Sub-tasks.

I've also checked issue hierarchy and issue types. Its only happening in one specific project.
