rename status in workflow

I have 2 workflow that have same statuses expect 1 status that is different. New and Open in To Do category. How I can rename one of this statuses. When I try to rename status open to new or new to open , then 

A status with that name already exists, please enter a different name 

I have this message.  How to rename 1 of this status? Try to rename to other name both but not worked

Hi Kamil,

Is this a Company-managed or Team-managed project? 

And, no, you can't rename a status to the same name as an existing status. 

You need to Copy the workflow you want to change. Then in the copy version of the workflow, you need to delete the current status and replace it with the other status. 

Then you need to update the Workflow Scheme to change out the current workflow for the new one you created by copying. 

This is all assuming it is a Company-managed project.

@John Funk and different of workflows is that 1 of them have all status -> status can change to any status. Other workflow have status ierarchy -> wich status and when can changed to wich status.
