I notice that when i change the status of the subtask (let say from on hold to in progress), the assignee of the subtask is automatically assigned to me (from the previously already defined assignee).
is there a way to stop this from happening? i want to keep the assignee as it is.
Hi @Arnold Susanto It might be due to the post function "Assignee issue to Current User" applied in the workflow.
Kindly check workflow postfunction if you have Admin permission or ask your JIRA Admin to remove this post function.
Thanks

Adding to what @Vikrant Yadav suggests, this could also be from an automation rule changing assignee. Please check the issue history to see if that is what changed the assignee, and if so discuss it with your project admin to learn the purpose of the rule.
Best regards,
Bill

thanks @Vikrant Yadav & @Bill Sheboy . Your inputs are very useful. I will check with the project admin.
For now I have asked the team members to update the status themselves, instead of me doing everything for them :)
