sub-tasks no viewable on issue view

We recently upgraded to JIRA Server 8.22.1 and noticed users are unable to see sub-tasks under the parent issue, whereas prior to the upgrade these were visible.

  • This project does not have issue level security turned on (at least in the place I checked it doesn't)
  • jira-administrators can see the sub-tasks, general users cannot
  • The sub-task drop-down on the issue view isn't available
    • When viewing an issue, you should see Details, Description, Attachments, Sub-tasks - that option is missing for users.

How do we get that option to appear on issue view for non-administrators?  Why would this happen?

Thank you in advance,
Scott

Jira doesn't have this sort of security natively, and it has nothing that hides sub-tasks from the owners of the parents.  If you are having problems seeing child issues, you should be talking to the people who gave you the app to do it!

The App to do it?  It's JIRA, so that's why I came to the Atlassian community.

Jira doesn't hide things natively, so if the sub-tasks are missing, you've got an app that is hiding them.
