when user selects particular value in custom field then few fields should populate automatically.

  • we have  "Defect Origin" field to classify the source of the defect as QA, DEV, TAC, or PLM.

  • When "Defect Origin" is set to TAC while creating ticket, the following additional TAC-specific fields will be displayed and required:

  • Hardware Dependency: Yes / No

  • Topology Requirement: ≤6 nodes / >6 nodes

  • Configuration Complexity: CLI / Netconf / Minimal / Medium / Complex

  • Traffic Dependency: Yes / No

  • Investigation Summary Report Attached: Yes / No

  • Existing Workarounds: [Free text]

  • Frequency of Occurrence: Intermittent / Consistent

please suggest way to do this.

Have you tried using form feature which is now available for Jira Software as well?

Where to find?

Go to Project Settings--> Issuess --> Advanced Forms for Jira

You can link it to any specific issue type.

Hi @Sachin Guttala 

In the project settings under features is the forms option enabled, if so then exit the project settings and on the project side bar the Forms option should be available.
