Hi,

I imported issues from another bugtracker using CSV, so it created custom fields for the properties that couldn't be matched to Jira's default properties.

In the custom field list, I clicked on "context and default value" on a custom field just to see how to change the default values (the field is a select list).
But in the custom field configuration page I clicked by mistake on the cross, which ended up deleting the custom field configuration system ! (without any confirmation).

Is there a way to restore the field configuration ?
Or if I create a field configuration with the same values, will they be matched to the former values in the ticket screen ?

Hi @Xavier Welcome to the Atlassian Community!

I'm afraid there is no way to restore the field configuration once it's deleted. You wouldn't be able to retain the values even if you re-create them.

The only way i could think of is to recover from a backup (which can be a painstaking process) or if you know the issues where the field values are used, you can create the context and bulk update the values on those issues.

There is a ticket for requiring confirmation when removing a custom field context https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/JRACLOUD-27957
