Hi, we use JIRA cloud instance to track our product development.
Often our developers required to allocated more hours than what is estimated.
The problem we couldn't figure out a solution was when the "Remaining Estimate" is reduced to '0'.
We understand Remaining Estimate is deprecated with the time logged from the original estimate until it is reduced to '0'.
Now in our situation when we update the 'Original Estimate' field, we were expecting that the Remaining Estimate field would automatically recalculate and update itself and would now show up >0 value that is to say there are few hours left until completion.
But this is not the case and the Remaining Estimate is stuck at 0 after it is reduced to 0.
Any insights would help?
Thank you,
It would be good if the field recalculated if no time has been logged
Hi Soane,
If Remaining estimate field wont recalculate, its better not to show it in the first place with incorrect information. This doesnot make any sense. Remaining field should be calculated each time.
Is there any plan on fixing this?
Best Regards
Sakshi

Hi Shravan,
Remaining Estimate field won't automatically recalculate and get updated, I'm afraid. However, you can manually update this information by editing the issue.
Cheers,
Soane K.
