Hey,
I need to remove Crowd from Jira, we will work with Active Directory only for the Future,
all Accounts from Crowd exists in AD too. But i cant remove Crowd from Jira.
How could this be done?
Best regards,
Daniel
If Crowd was talking to AD and you're now making JIRA talk to AD, that should work. If you have userids in Crowd that don't match userids in JIRA, that will be harder to make work.
Define a new user directory in a staging JIRA to talk to to AD. Put it above the Crowd user directory in JIRA then login again. Now you are using an AD user and you will be able to disable the Crowd user directory.
If your groups came from AD via Crowd you should be able to retrieve the same groups directly from AD. If not, then you'll need to redefine groups.
Assuming you're not seeing the 'Delete' link in User Directories of JIRA, you will require to login as administrator user in Internal JIRA directory to delete/disable the Crowd Directory configured in JIRA.
A heads up, if you have been managing groups in JIRA instead of Crowd, you will lose the user group membership when migrating to Active Directory. This is because the group membership is also directory ID dependent.

I tried to add direct connection to AD using the method describe by Matt Doar but when I tried to login in from another browser (on a different machine), I was refused access. Using the active connexion in the browser I did the change, I was still loged on but with really restricted acces (only 2 space out of ~25 and no admin permissions). I add to revert from a DB dump.
Groups are managed in AD (crowd and JIRA have read only on AD). The person who was manager users permissions just left. Could you indicate a few thing to check?
