Removing request (ticket) from sprint. Jira wants to move request to another sprint

Various teams work in sprints, and some teams have several sprints, some sprints not active.

One team (Dallas) has various sprins but none of them are active (have not been started).

Anoter team (Heroes) have one active sprint going on. The problem is that everytime Heroes team wants to remove a request from their sprint (right click on the request in the active sprint, and select "Remove from Sprint") Jira wants to move the request to a sprint (that is not active) that belongs to the Dallas team.

How can I prevent this?

Hi Sigridur

When you tried to "Remove from Sprint" in the active Sprint view, Jira tried to move the issue to the next planned (not started) sprint, which in your case might be the one belongs to Dallas team. I am afraid you cannot change this behavior of Jira. But you do have workarounds

1. Drag and drop the issues in Backlog view to anywhere you want, either backlog or another Sprint

2. Also in the Backlog view, right click the issue and you will see pop up menu with Send to, which allows you to send the issue either to the backlog or other sprints

3. Edit the sprint field directly in the issue
