Removing subtask workflows from workflow scheme

Lina Abu-Baker September 23, 2021

Hi,

My current workflow scheme includes various workflows for subtasks. My team wants to create a new workflow that doesn't include subtasks and remove the workflows for subtasks. If I remove those workflows for subtasks, what happens to current and old tickets that had them?

Thanks,

Lina

Hi @Lina Abu-Baker

When you have a workflow from the workflow scheme, any Issue Type in the project that does not have a workflow associate will be attached to the workflow defined as "Unassigned Types" in the workflow scheme.

Depending on the status of these workflows, Jira will prompt you for a status mapping and change the sub-task issue statuses according to the mapping defined.

I hope it helps. If this answer helps solve the problem, please come back and mark this answer as solved to help other community members with the same challenge. If not, you are welcome to share your solution as well.

@Alex Thank you! This helps a lot. I will need to ask my team if they are okay with subtasks being unassigned.
