Removing user from JIRA but leaving access to Confluence

Deleted user May 3, 2019

I have an admin user who has access to JIRA and Confluence.

I would like to remove this user from JIRA, but continue to access Confluence.  How can I accomplish this as it seems it's going to remove them both?

go to Jira settings > User management, find the user and click on more details and then uncheck the Jira application.

That's not so easy to answer without knowing your setup (crowd, AD, internal user? )

Usually jira and confluence have different groups which grant access to jira or confluence. If you remove one of these groups from your user, he should have no access to jira or confluence. (jira -> Cogwheel- >Applications -> Application Access)

However if you use the same group to grant access to jira and confluence, and remove that group from the user, then you remove him completely.

You could create a new group which grats access to Confluence and assign that group to the specific user.
