Renaming username of JIRA users

Hi,

I'm trying to rename the user name of some users I created in JIRA. The users could be stored in either the Internal or Microsoft Active Directory.

I was wondering if there are any built in functionality or addons I could download that allows me to change the user name of JIRA users? (e.g. some of our internal users want to have their JIRA user names changed because their current one is either too hard to memorize, etc.)

Hi Jason,

It's only possible to change a full name if you have a verified domain.

Hi @Jason Yeung welcome to the Atlassian community.

Rename can't be achieved without the authorization of the user. In Jira cloud you could make the suggestion and an email will be sent, it depends on the users if he accepts or not.

In JIRA server, it is possible only for JIRA admins and it depends on JIRA configuration if its done directly on JIRA or cloud or if  needs to be done directly on Active Directory.
