Can anybody help me resolve this.... https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/CONF-29880 Thanks.
Ok. When you say "made backup" and "restored backup", could you give a little more detail? Which exports did you use and at what point did you do the import?
Actually though, there's one other thing to try that could bypass any need for debugging - reset the admin password by hand - have a quick look through https://confluence.atlassian.com/display/DOC/Restoring+Passwords+To+Recover+Admin+User+Rights Note that with an HSQL database, you don't need a SQL connection to it - stop Confluence, find database.script, copy it to a backup just in case, open it in a text editor and find and replace the admin password as covered by the doc, then restart and try it.
Ok, that's
For those of you who don't want to have to visit another system to see the original, it just says:
-----
I restored an xml backup to my confluence from another confluence instance of same version, but login stopped working for all users, including administrator. Can any body help me correct this problem? I am running confluence on centos.

What does your log say? What authentication system were you using in the old system and how have you configured it in the new one? Which user are you using? What database do you have behind it?

Thanks for the response....
I wil copy the log in another comment...
I was using JIRA user directory, running on the same server.
I configured the same on new instance.
These were evaluation installation so they are without external db, its HSQL DB. However old instance was running on windows server 2008 R2 and new one is installed on Centos 6.3. What I did it, installed confluence on new server and restored the backup made from old server to transfer all wikis and spaces, but that broke up the login, as I am not able to login with admin credentials even which were working previously. I am sorry about being so naive about it, I am pretty new to Confluence n Jira stuff, as apparent... Thanks for your help.

I think it's more to support request rather than a bug. Please create a support request athttps://support.atlassian.com in regard of this issue, including the logs of the failing import.
