Resrtict comment for particular status.

Take a case where I have an issue type (Story), that contains statuses like TODO, IN PROGRESS, AWAITING CLIENT, IN DEVELOPMENT, INVALID, .....

I want to restrict the comments on particular statuses, say the user won't be able to add comments at particular statuses.

How do I achieve this in my Jira data center?

Hey @Jira Billing ,

I assume this would only be possible through workflow properties. First of all I would not recommend to perform this change as Jira should not restrict but enable collaborating on comment level. Additionally the workflow properties can cause problems or bugs. Now that you are aware of the downsides and I assume you have a valid reason to perform this change 😉:

Depending on the kind of restriction you want to add you can check this article about workflow properties.

1. Edit the Workflow 🖊️
2. Click on the status and adjust the properties 
3. If you want to deny commenting at all use jira.permission.
comment.denied as the property without any value
4. Add this to all status you want to restrict commenting
